A schoolgirl from Novosibirsk organized a charity event and collected food for stray dogs

Irina Mukhometshina is in 11th grade and wants to become a journalist. Young shark Pera published one of her materials on the youth portal "Growth. Media". The girl and her friends spent several days at a shelter for homeless animals as volunteers. The result of this work was the charity event "Paw of Help".

"Thoughts about how we can help homeless animals tormented me during the entire work on the project. Several options were born: to attract as many people as possible to volunteer, to put up flyers and post ads on social networks with information about dogs, to announce the collection of necessary things," Irina Mukhometshina writes.

The eleventh-grader turned to the management of her native school for help. And in order not to go far, the school administration helped organize a charity event for dogs directly in the school walls. As a result, the action "Paw of Help" took place within a week.

"Students, their parents and teachers brought everything that we had pre-determined in the list: dry and wet food, cereals, toys, leashes, hygiene products and so on. In just a short time, we collected about 130 kilograms of gifts," Irina continues.

What was the surprise of the Akademgorodok shelter, where Irina came to work as a volunteer, when for their ponytails from the school No. 215 named after D.A. Kovalev. D.A. Bakurov package arrived. As they said in the shelter itself, these are very necessary gifts. The shelter was able to fill two huge tanks with cereal, and they also brought them plenty of wet and dry food, cleaning supplies, and dog leashes.

"Why did I decide to organize a charity event called Paw of Help? I had my own dog, a dachshund. His name was Bonya, we grew up together, he was a part of my life. Unfortunately, he died of an illness a year ago and it was impossible to help him. And I began to pay attention to the same tailed and eared ones on the street, and I became interested in shelters. When I shared my idea with my parents, my mother said she was very proud of me," Irina Mukhometshina shares her story.

The small Novosibirsk tradition of the charity event remained within the walls of Irina's native school. Teachers have already suggested Irina to tell primary school students about the problems of stray animals.
