A veterinarian from Vladimir paints pictures, and donates the proceeds to stray animals.

Anton Sedov, a veterinarian and traumatologist, lives in Vladimir. He treats animals in a private clinic, and in between surgeries draws portraits of emperors, astronauts, actors in an unusual technique - dots. The journalists of the Vladimir TV channel "Option" told about such an unusual hobby of the veterinarian-surgeon.

Anton Sedov has been in his profession for over seven years. And often, in the line of duty, he encounters injuries from stray animals. That's how life brought him together with volunteers from local shelters.

“I deal with animal injuries all the time: hit by a car, falling out of a window, animals with bullet wounds and other unpleasant situations. Over the years I have managed to “pull many patients from the other side of the world” and find them a home, which makes me very happy. My heart aches especially for stray animals, as there is absolutely no one to take care of them in the postoperative period," says Anton.

In 2023, the first solo exhibition of the veterinary artist "Familiar Faces" opened at the Vladimir exhibition complex. All paintings Anton painted in his spare time.

The name of the graphic technique is pointillism. Anton Sedov's illustrations resemble old engravings, the journalists say. Although they look very much in the spirit of the times. It is in Anton's works - in the faces of the characters. The dots represent images from different centuries.

"Just drawing a portrait is pretty corny. We need people to associate it with something! For example, Walt Disney. In general, many people cannot recognize him. But we added Mickey Mouse ears and, here, something seems to be clear”, - Anton Sedov shares his emotions.

According to Anton, it was inspired by the audience's interest in his paintings that he decided to use this field of activity for the benefit of homeless animals. In the clinic where Anton works, as well as on the Internet was organized the sale of engravings, and the proceeds, almost 60 thousand rubles, went to the volunteer movement “Dog for Happiness”. The young surgeon donated them for food and medicine to stray cats and dogs, as well as to pay for postoperative overexposure.

"I am convinced that the best solution to the problem of stray animals is timely sterilization. In some cities of our region, it is not possible to conduct it, as there are no veterinary clinics. In 2024, together with volunteers from the city of Melenka, we organized a field hospital, where more than 25 animals were sterilized in one day. I am very happy that I manage to help homeless animals both with the help of creativity and directly as a doctor”, - said Anton Sedov.
