The story of an unusual store employee was told in February 2023 by the Klops portal. Not so long ago, the cat had to "quit" because of the requirements of the supervisory authorities. Hundreds of signatures have been collected in his support.
Sergey the cat was once a street cat — most likely, the former owners threw him out on the street. He was picked up by employees of a store on the Kurortny Prospect of the city, cured, and he lived with them. When the store moved to another room, the cat moved to the U-market store.
Sergey spends his working day sitting on the windowsill: watching the work of sellers, taking pictures with customers. In December 2022, Sergey was awarded a special award: employees of the central office named the cat "Employee of the Year".
"When customers come in gloomy and dissatisfied, Sergey makes them smile, which is why he deserves the award. We are sure that for the entire existence of the store, he is the most valuable employee," said Tatiana, the manager of the outlet.
And not so long ago, the famous cat was removed from the store due to an anonymous complaint to Rospotrebnadzor. He moved into the home of one of the employees. A petition asking for Sergei's return was signed by more than 500 people. The cat became famous all over the country, and he was even offered a job in the administration of St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reported.
