In the first week, the nominees for the Award "My affectionate and necessary animal" received a total of 35,000 votes!

The first week of online voting has flown quickly and we are ready to state that this year the election of National Heroes started from scratch, without much swing.
It is worth recalling that compared to last season, where unlimited support for candidates was allowed by the number of votes per day, this year the organizing committee has established a quota system — one vote per day. Nevertheless, it is worth quoting the statisticians' favorite argument: during the first week of the marathon last season, 16,000 votes were recorded in the first two nominations as a preference for one candidate or another, and 35,000 votes in this one.
The geography of voting is extensive — currently 35 countries. The main activity from the first day has been shown by Internet users of the countries whose representatives apply for the Award - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. Since Thursday, Internet users from Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and Peru have taken up the case. We will not be surprised if the excitement of the residents of Azerbaijan, the USA and the UK wakes up this week. Worthy candidates from these countries definitely need more meaningful support.
In the nomination among our smaller brothers, the leaders are very tight, and the gap between the other contenders from the top five looks insignificant.
We publish a list of favorites of the week in the order of application numbers: border collie Whiz, dog Mukhtar, cat Pilusha, dog Varya, cat Sergey.
In the nomination "Responsible for those ..." the situation is somewhat different: at the end of the week, there was a clear favorite here. However, the rest of the contenders, who were not even among the leaders, are quite capable of catching up with him. You just need to keep your hands on it, organize support for this or that candidate well and competently.
The favorites of the nomination in the order of application numbers are: the shelter-boarding house "Dobry Dom Bussido", the animal aid group "Animal_nsk", the rescuer of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ivan Berezhnov, the Mikhalych Cats project, the public organization for animal welfare "Cat and Dog".
Next Monday, February 5, we will summarize the next interim results. On February 7, at midnight, the first round will be completed. On the morning of February 8, we will announce five finalists in each nomination, who will go through to the second stage of voting! During the second stage, which will end on February 26, the strongest will be determined.
Both winners of the popular vote chosen by you will be invited to the award ceremony of the laureates of the International Award "My affectionate and necessary animal", which will be held in Zelenogradsk in April.
Recall that in parallel with the voting of Internet users, the jury will also have its say by the beginning of March. The arbitrators will have to choose the laureates and prize-winners in all three (including creative) nominations, determine who will receive honorary diplomas and special prizes.
The Organizing Committee once again thanks all the associates of the project who took (and continues to take part) in the election of the National Heroes of the fifth season for their activity and correctness. The main rule of the Award: in our project, of course, there are winners, but there are no losers. Let's follow it!
