A labrador from Aktau saved a girl at the cost of his life

Nomination "Our brothers": A dog named Lord literally pushed his 13-year-old mistress out of the raging sea.

The story that the journalists told Lada.kz , occurred on August 18. 13-year-old Bogdana, along with her faithful Labrador named Lord, was walking by the sea in the 7A microdistrict. Such walks were normal for their family, because Bogdana trained her dog on her own. Lord lived with the family for two years, had awards, studied child protection and caring for a teenager.

Aktau city stands on the shore of the Caspian Sea. The coast, where the young mistress and her faithful dog spent time, is very rocky. But on a warm August day, nothing foreshadowed trouble.

"There are not many people where the daughter and the Lord were walking, there are stones, it is inconvenient to swim. Therefore, Bogdana trained her dog in this place. After the training, they sat on the rocks, as usual, with their legs dangling into the sea. My daughter told me that she hugged the Lord and kissed him on the nose. And after the traditional ritual, they walked to the shore along a path made of stones. It was then that the sea began to swell," said the girl's mother Tatiana.

Locals say that even without wind, strong waves can start in the Caspian Sea. That's what happened that day. When the waves began to overwhelm the girl and the dog, Bogdana could not stay on her feet and fell. But an insidious wave tipped her and the Lord into the abyss. At first, no one paid any attention to this, the sea in this area is shallow, the hostess even had fun with the dog and began to get out.

"My daughter started walking, then swimming, she swims well, even participates in competitions. But the waves began to carry her away from the shore with such force that Bogdana quickly ran out of strength. She told me later that she realized she couldn't swim anymore. And at that very moment, something pushed her in the back and carried her to the shore. And that was our Lord. He literally pulled her out of the sea," Tatiana continues.

Thanks to the Lord, Bogdana was able to climb onto the rocks and tried to pull her savior out. The first wave hit the dog on the rocks, but the girl did not lose hope of saving her friend. She called for help. But the second huge wave took away those chances, and the Lord was hit by rocks again and swept into the abyss. Bogdana only managed to see his ears and nose. When people came running to the teenager's screams, Bogdana was already alone.

"The divers searched for the Lord for a long time. We were later told that under these rocks in the sea there are underwater caves and an underwater current, there is a depth of 4 to 6 meters. And it is likely that our Lord was swept out to sea. So we did not find him," says Bogdana's mother.

For the family, the Lord was not just a dog, he was a true protector, the best friend.  Labradors are very much like nannies by nature, and that's how he babysat Tatiana's youngest daughter and niece. He watched the children, brought them toys.

"It was only now that the whole family began to realize that the Lord was so kind. You can't even call him a dog, he's a family member for us. We miss him very much," says Tatiana.

By the way. This is not the only salvation of a loved one on the Lord's account. Once, he literally pushed his mistress away from the turned-on stove, where a shelf fell a second later. If it hadn't been for Lord, Tatiana would have suffered a head injury and burns.
