The story, which was told by the journalists of "New Kaliningrad", took place in mid-September in the coastal town of Pionersky. The police department first received a missing person report from a 41-year-old woman who left home on September 14 and did not return. When she stopped contacting and all the careful searches were unsuccessful, they decided to involve a dog handler with a service dog.
Tatyana Solovyova, a cynologist at the Center of the Cynological Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kaliningrad Region, came to look for the missing woman with her service dog named Zena. The problem was that it was raining and washing away the tracks, and two days had passed since the disappearance.
"When we got the call, we realized that a service dog is the last hope to find a woman. And we were lucky, things were found on the spot, so Zena took the right trail, which is important. After all, there was a fear that it would be very difficult to do this in the existing conditions. But Zena coped, managed to choose the right direction and immediately took us to the construction site. By the way, the construction site is fenced, but without security," Tatyana Solovyova said.
The service dog not only led the police to the construction site, but also in a matter of minutes led them to a construction pit filled with water. At the bottom, in the depths of the pit, a woman was already exhausted. She couldn't get out on her own. The police took out the victim, provided first aid and handed her over to the paramedics.
As the cynologist Tatyana Solovyova says, the most difficult thing for dogs is to look for minors and those who suffer from memory loss, especially in urban conditions. People move chaotically, often by transport, enter the premises, leave for another city.

Zena is one of three service dogs of the cynological service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kaliningrad region, who were born in the kennel, their mother is a service search dog Zemfira. Now our heroine Zena is three years old and in her practice this is the first time when she was able to find a lost person alive, and thus save his life.
