Summing up the results of the first week of the "Popular Vote"

Dear friends! The first seven days of online voting flew by unnoticed (at least for the organizing committee). According to the overall statistics, they almost completely repeated the dynamics of last year's election of People Heroes.

Dear friends! The first seven days of online voting flew by unnoticed (at least for the organizing committee). According to the overall statistics, they almost completely repeated the dynamics of last year's election of People Heroes.

A total of 39,265 votes were cast for the candidates in the two nominations as of Monday morning.

Such activity cannot but be encouraging, if not for one nuance. In the "Responsible for those..." nomination, the candidates received 22065 votes in their support, and accordingly, our smaller brothers in total received the attention of a more modest number of users. Moreover, the voting rules very clearly prescribe the possibility for each voting participant to make a choice daily in two nominations. Please pay attention to this. Because we believe, with good reason, that our wonderful and very necessary animals deserve respect and recognition no less than our wonderful and very dedicated animal rights activists.

And now it's time to announce the leaders at the intermediate stage of voting.

In the nomination "Our Brothers", we entered the top five (we list them by application numbers):

  • Dog Butuz (Belgorod - Rostov-on-Don)
  • German Shepherd Donbass (Irkutsk-Lugansk)
  • Labrador -retriever Dark (Belarus)
  • Doberman Rainier (Leningrad region)
  • Cat Vizha (Donetsk-Moscow)

Without disclosing statistics at the moment, it is worth noting that three applicants, thanks to the support of those who were impressed by their actions, went into a small but obvious gap, which, however, does not look grandiose. At the moment, the difference between third and sixth place is less than 400 votes. And based on the experience of previous years, it cannot be ruled out that next week, the list of favourites may undergo changes.

The following candidates are in the lead in the "Responsible for those" nomination (we list them by application numbers):

  • Crew of the icebreaker Yakutia (Murmansk)
  • Volunteers of the Shelter of the Hedgehog Center (St. Petersburg)
  • Karen Dallakyan (Chelyabinsk)
  • Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (Minsk)
  • Mother Arseniya (Lipetsk region)
  • Nayda Homeless Animal Protection Center (Novgorod Region)

Please note that there are more favourites in this nomination, because so far this text has been written, there are two nominees who occupy the fifth and sixth lines three times (!!!) positions were changed.

Both among the lesser brothers and among animal rights activists, there are currently three leaders, but the difference in votes cast between the interim favourites and other candidates does not look critical. Everything is still ahead!

We would like to thank all the voting participants for their extremely respectful attitude towards our undoubtedly worthy applicants. We believe that the principle of correctness will be respected until the very end of the Popular Vote.

We also ask you to remember that online elections are a separate marathon that does not affect the decision of our esteemed jury in any way, and do not forget the main maxim of the "Shaggy Oscar": In our good project, of course, there are winners, but there are no losers!
