We announce the winners of the sixth season!

The jury of the International Award ‘My Affectionate and Necessary Animal’ has finished its work.

As in the past, the choice of winners was not easy for the judges, because the actions of the absolute majority of nominees of the season cause nothing but admiration and respect. Suffice it to say that the diversity of opinion in the first nomination among the judges covered twelve out of twenty candidates.

And, nevertheless, the dry impartial figures of the consolidated protocol determined all the winners and prize-winners of the season.

So, the nomination ‘Our Brothers’ (we publish the winners by serial numbers of applications):

Fearless beagles Roki and Ryzhiy (Tyumen region). For four days they drove away wolves from their little owners lost in the taiga.

Mongrel Pobeda (Kherson region, Samara). Guided fighters in the special military operation zone through minefields.

Bagira, a cat, joined the service of Russian artillerymen in the North Caucasus Military District.

Three-legged sheepdog Rona (Kaliningrad). Works as a canister therapist for special children.

Sheepdog Irbis (Kamchatka). At the cost of his health saved his master from four bears.

Service dog Zhair (Ussuriysk). Prevented a bloody terrorist attack on new territories.

Tiger python Angelina (Gorno-Altaisk). Shared all the difficulties of the war with her comrades-in-arms at the front.

Brave warrant officer - cat Tolik (Moscow). Bears his watch together with firemen of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In addition, several heroes of the nomination will be awarded Diplomas of Honor by the arbitrators.

Nomination ‘Responsible for those’ (we publish the winners by order numbers of applications):

The Andrievsky family (St. Petersburg). The spouses have created the ‘Baltic Seal Friends Foundation’ and professionally save pinniped inhabitants of the Baltic.

Volunteers of the stray animal rehabilitation centre ‘Nadezhda Plus KST’ (Kostanai, Kazakhstan). Rescued and sheltered hundreds of abandoned animals during floods in Kazakhstan.

Employees of the Kovcheg Foundation (Stavropol). Over the years they have rescued hundreds of our lesser brothers, including from the war zone.

Teenagers from the Moscow region: Kirill Petukhov, Nikita Kazak, Ivan Svirin and Ivan Borisov. They pulled children and three dogs out of a flat engulfed in flames.

Petrus Van der Wolf (Netherlands). The Dutchman moved to Russia, created a shelter for horses on Sakhalin and stayed for their sake on the island, praised by Anton Chekhov.

Residents of the Sobolevsky district of the Kamchatka region and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. They united in a friendly team for the sake of saving the doomed orcas.

Senior Lieutenant Roman Mirzhanov from St. Petersburg (posthumously). Adopted and raised a dog Pulya in the special military operation zone.

In this nomination, several candidates will also be awarded Diplomas of Honor. In addition, we would like to remind you that up to 1 April, the jury may increase the number of winners in each nomination by a consolidated decision.

Who of the winners will be on the first step of the pedestal, who will receive special prizes of the Award, as well as a special prize of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the North-West Federal District, you, our dear associates, will learn directly during the awarding ceremony of the sixth season, which will be held on 18-19 April 2025 in Zelenogradsk.

The Organizing Committee will announce the list of winners of the first in the history of national journalism International Contest ‘By Pen and Heart’ on the third of March.
